CLARENCE CARTER - 1973 - Sixty Minutes With Clarence Carter

WANTED

A great little album from Clarence -- recorded after his years at Atlantic, but still with the Fame Studios team, and very much in a warm Muscle Shoals groove! Clarence is stretching out a bit more here -- sounding more confident, and less self conscious than on some of his earlier albums -- a style that makes for a great batch of tunes that fall right in that southern/modern soul divide. Production is nice and tight, and backings are fairly large -- but overall the album makes for a side of Clarence that's quite different than his Atlantic recordings -- a chapter of his career we wish we'd heard more of! Titles include "Next To You", "Heartbreak Woman", "I'm The Midnight Special", "Love's Trying To Come To You", "I Got Another Woman", and "And They Say Don't Worry".
